*It’s here! The 4th and final book in the Confessions series, The Princess, the Prick and the Priest, by Ella Frank.

Blurb:

Everyone said our love wouldn’t work. That it was too hard, too complicated, too messy. Oh, how I enjoy proving everyone wrong.

My men are smart, sexy, sophisticated — and most of all, crazy about me. The only problem is trying to explain that to my big, opinionated Italian family.

But after all we’ve been through, we deserve a happily ever after. and if there’s one thing I know about my guys, they always manage to have a few surprises up their sleeves.

When Robbie Bianchi (the Princess) was seduced by married couple, Julien (the Prick) Thornton, and Joel (the Priest) Priestly, in the first book in this series (Confessions, Robbie), a fascinating dynamic was put in place. This was followed by Julien’s story (Confessions: Julien) and then Priest’s story (Confessions: Priest).

This book picks up several months after book 3 ends, with Robbie and his lovers in a good place and enjoying some non-dramatic lovey-dovey time. I love these men when they are playful together — their chemistry jumps off the page.

Things seem good for this three person unit, but one obstacle must be overcome before they can move forward in the way they desire. That is, Robbie must introduce his two married lovers to his large Italian family.

Some of the highlights of this book occur when Robbie attempts to do just that. I will say that Priest has a moment that will not soon be forgotten by anyone, and it is pretty fricking epic considering how he holds his cards close to his chest most of the time.

As with the final book in Frank’s Temptations series, this instalment, at least for me, devolved into a few too many wordy declarations of love and long term commitment which seemed very repetitive. However, it is marketed as a romance and I’m sure most of Frank’s fans will enjoy this.

Frank redeemed herself to me with the epilogue and a very realistic portrayal of a possible future for these three. I loved the way she left things vague in terms of how it all came about, and presented her readers with the unadorned reality of the conceivable result.

Great ending to an awesome series that presents a different kind of relationship in a realistic and positive way.
